Hello!  My name is Teresa Ann Anderton and I am 51 years old.  I was diagnosed with diabetes when I was 13-years-old, and then diagnosed with kidney failure at age 26.   I was on peritoneal dialysis for 4 years, then received a kidney-pancreas transplant when I was 30.  The kidney is failing now.

My kidney failure was from diabetes diagnosed at age 13. When I recurved the kidney pancreas transplant I no longer had to take insulin shots. To date I’ve not taken a shot since Feb 21, 1998. My pancreas is going strong.I had a living donor lined up, but as of July 1st, 2019, when I called in, I found that my living donor dropped out.  Any healthy person who thinks they could be a match, and is willing to get tested, please contact the UAB Kidney-Pancreas Transplant Team @ 205-975-9200.   The wait list is 14 years, thousands die every year waiting.  I need your help. I am now, since May, undergoing hemodialysis three days a week, four hours a day.   I have a port in my neck that is hooked up to a dialysis machine through tubes, and it cycles my blood through a machine, thousands of times, until it's clean in the four hours I'm hooked up to it.  I am very weak afterwards and the following day.  I have a lot of trouble sleeping at night.  Restless Leg Syndrome makes it particularly difficult to rest.  I'm up late and up early, I rarely rest, I'm exhausted.  It's hard for me to get groceries and  and support myself.  I am divorced, no children, but I live a pretty simple and happy life with my two cats Sophie and SweetPea.

$1,200.00 copay which is the 20% Medicare does not cover.  I’ve had multiple surgeries over the years and I’m one of God’s miracles.  I hope to help others by knowing my testimony.  To help with the $1,200.00 copay, the wonderful people at
Kolectic Treasure's Antique Mall, LLC. #1, in Anniston, Ala. and Kolectic Treasures Antique Mall, LLC. #2, in Jacksonville, Ala. are helping out!  They are accepting monetary donations and have set up a special booth at both locations:  "We have a special vendor, and friend who needs our help, so we designed a booth for her, called Kidney Love and it has amazing items that our vendors have donated to help get her kidney replacement.  So let’s help buy these items in both stores to show our support, or even donate items to add to it.  Also everything goes right into this amazing vendors kidney transplant.  We are always here for our vendors and family here at Kolectic Treasures.  Thank you all so very much for donating already and helping one of our amazing vendors." - Jason Kellner

If you would like to give, but don't have a way to go to the antique malls, you can  call the UAB business office at 205-934-9910 and pay directly.

My co pay for the port in my neck is $700. The co pay for another surgery on the fistula in my arm for dialysis is $400 which I’m saving up to pay. The port in my neck has to come out and that will be another co pay. I’ve got to have a colonoscopy on August 22 and there’s a co pay for that too.  Medicare pays 80% and I’m left with the 20%. I have no dental or vision insurance.

You can also help with groceries.  Teresa receives $89 in food stamps, monthly.  Any help is truly appreciated.  "I never thought in a million years I would end up in a situation like this."   Teresa has a
GoFundMe set up, an Amazon Wishlist, and if you email info@cannabisdata.org with 'Teresa Anderton - Publix' in the subject line, I will forward you her shopping list, they will deliver whatever groceries you order from the list directly to her home.

I also need to have a front wheel bearing put on my car. I’ve already bought the part.  Labor at Vulcan in Moody is $200.  If you know someone that is cheaper that would help a lot too (please send an email to info@cannabisdata.org).
