The war on drugs mirrors the war on alcohol: it did not STOP use, it caused harder use, use-related deaths increased, and violent crime increased. That's EXACTLY what is happening today .
You were born with your individual rights: your right to your life, your right to your liberty, and your right to your property. No one has a higher claim to your individual rights than you do. In turn, you do not have a higher claim to the individual rights of others. And in order to maintain those very precious individual rights - you must respect and protect those of all others, even and ESPECIALLY those you disagree with. The only ethical relationships are voluntary, and the market should be free.
Unless cannabis is as "legal" as the buttercups popping up on the sides of the roads, in pastures and fields, in folks' yards - it ain't "legal." Why? Because in the states where it is deemed "legal" (medically or recreationally) there are still regulations in place, which means some people are not getting the cannabinoids or quantities they want/need. Not even getting into the whole theft aspect of it (aka taxation), let's talk free markets -vs- the state: The state over-regulates, taxes, and offers excuses, while free markets offer choices, competition, and solutions. A free market demands competition. Competition ensures less waste, better quality, competitive pricing, and simultaneously creates business opportunities and jobs.
How? Because they want your business and the government can't bail them out or prop them up - want to stay in the game? Compete. It encourages good business for employees and customers, alike. It embraces individual rights, free association, and voluntary relationships - the only ethical sort.
Those who want to ingest cannabis should be growing it in their back yard with their tomatoes and collards, or trading for it from the grower of their choice. If just one person out there cannot get the cannabis they need (cannabinoid needed, quantity needed), or one person is thrown in jail over it, all the "legalization" business is for naught.

Glenn Keeling and PeggySue Kimmel are facing spending the rest of their lives behind bars for legal medical cannabis in Ohio. Show your support for having all charges against them dropped by submitting a photo. Pictures will be sent to their attorney as well as the prosecutor in this case. You can also reach out to the Mercer County prosecutor, Matt Fox @ 419-586-8677, and Judge Ingraham @ 419-586-5089, and politely ask that all charges against Glenn Keeling & PeggySue Kimmel, case numbers 18-CRM-099 and 18-CRM-100, be dropped. They are facing over 50 years in prison for a couple grams of medicinal cannabis. No one should be in jail for a plant. Pretrial is October 31 @ 1 p.m. - it's important that people show up, show support, and please be peaceful and polite!
e knock ended with a lot of cops forcing their way into their home, terrifying the family, destroying their house, and taking everything they had - including their medication. They are both out on bond, but struggling financially because this has been a very costly in more ways than one. They have been fighting for 19 months, and have finally been, "granted permission" to use their medical cannabis, unfortunately it's hard to get because of the financial hardship the state has imposed on them. Their next attorney conference is in January.
Glenn has Chron's Disease, and PeggySue suffers from a progressive
form of multiple sclerosis. When her medication was taken away for
five months, she developed new brain and spine lesions. These new
lesions resulted in plaque traveling down her spine, leading to three
surgeries and a wheelchair. She is currently doing physical therapy
twice a week so she can get out of her wheel chair, and once again be
mobile with the aid of a walker or canes.

In 2015 PeggySue and Glenn ran the West Central Ohio NORML, where Glenn was the executive director and Peggysue was the secretary. They had weekly meetings, hosted many events, including several music events that raised money for many different causes. In June of 2016, John Kaisic signed H.B 523 making it legal as of September 8th, 2016, to seek doctor recommendations for medical cannabis. Glenn put in to run for Mayor of our community, and became a medical cannabis patient October 9th, 2016. He informed all parties: election board, county sheriff, village chief of police, etc... Shortly after losing early in 2017, we also lost our public meeting space, we then ran meetings two times a week, and worked from home. Sadly they closed all Ohio NORML chapters. On October 31st, our nightmare began with a knock.
